I hate week 12. I don’t want to talk about it. Except for the six games I picked. Oh and the Atlanta game where I won the good bet. I’m now only down 10% on good bets.

On the other hand, I failed to nail down a single game, not even the Atlanta game.

On the true failures side, surprisingly there were only two. It would appear that Da Bears’ D is already sitting at the table for turkey, they sure weren’t in St. Louis. And I don’t know what happened to the Giants this year, and clearly neither does my computer.

Week 13 Picks

We hope everyone has a very happy, safe and drama free Thanksgiving Day! It’s a time to remember what’s really important in life and to have those people around you at this special time of the year.

It’s time for football too, so let’s get to it.

Last week I actually used stats to help me make my picks. I’m not going to do that again. Going back to gut feel. The game I’m looking forward to is New Orleans at Seattle, but that’s not until Monday night. For Turkey Day, I don’t see anything to be excited about today. But who knows maybe someone will be annoyed they have to work on Thanksgiving Day and play with a bit more heart. Evil’s Analysis and Picks

Week 11 is one of my favorite weeks of football. Not only did I call 11 games, but Carolina beat the Pats. Now the computer predicts Carolina as the number six seed in the playoffs. They get to go to New Orleans and get stomped. Guess it’s not a perfect week…

I nailed the Buffalo, Miami and Denver games. I almost called the KC and Denver scores exactly.

On the true failures side, Tampa Bay’s D says Falcons taste just like chicken. Also I can live with being totally wrong about Carolina.

There is one good bet this week and that is Atlanta will cover the spread by beating New Orleans. Continue reading →

Week 11 Results

Can you believe it’s almost Thanksgiving? Where has the season gone? Looking back at last week, it wasn’t bad at all in regard to my football picks at least. I was right about my pick for the Colts, but come on my Titans hung in there pretty well! It wasn’t a runaway game after all! I must admit I was surprised at how Buffalo so easily handled the Jets. I really thought NY was better than that. I appear to have been wrong about that.

Now someone explain to me how Tampa Bay beat Atlanta? Because I don’t get that one at all. I know we’re talking the best of two losers, but still. I thought Atlanta was better than that. Finally, I feel sorry for Green Bay. They seem to have a knack for putting their talent into their quarterback and when he’s down, the team can’t rally to live up to their potential. Week 11 Overview

I am now 1-six hunnit and fiddy on bets that Denver games will go under. Got one. I also gained 520% on gambling overall. Hard to believe because I got most of the fricken winners wrong.

I nailed the Giants game. Not too hard, I’m sure Eli and the boys were looking for little kids and kittens to beat up. Nice of Oakland to satisfy that. Not that it was a beating really. Speaking of teams needing to bully somebody, I nailed the Pittsburgh game, no real surprise there. 2 for 2 on the B team games. That’s exactly the same as flipping heads twice. Continue reading →

Week 10 Results

Not a bad week of picks; at least I broke even. My Skins lost, that was disappointing. How Tennessee lost to Jacksonville is beyond me.  Cincinnati came down to overtime. But truth be told, I don’t mind losing that pick. I love Baltimore!

The BIG shocker for me was Evil’s Panthers beating San Francisco. What in the world happened there? Are the Panther’s that good? Or did San Francisco assume that game would be a walk in the park and took it for granted? Part of me hopes they’re that good. But my gut tells me the 49’ers took it for granted on top of traveling cross country to an earlier time zone.

I’m glad Arizona squeaked out their win. I don’t think they played up to their potential against Houston. That or Houston has finally got their act together again. Continue reading →

Week 9 Results

Time for football! And I’m late posting my picks.

So last week I didn’t so badly. Not as well as Week 8, but still I finished Week with a 76% win ratio for the week and a 62% win ratio for the season.

My surprise was that Miami was able to defeat Cincinnati. That was a good game to watch. New Orleans losing, that wasn’t a good game to watch and my heart hurt for Drew Brees. My personal opinion, which isn’t worth much, his receivers let him down in that game.

Evils Review and Picks

Week 8 was great, got 11 picks right. Unfortunately the one good bet I flagged was dependent on D.C. showing up with both halves of their team. Someone send a cab to whatever airport bar they are at and pick up their defense.

I nailed the the game in New England. Not too hard the Pats were going to kill them, the question was: by how much? Ditto on the Saints game. And not ditto on the game in St. Louis. I correctly predicted that the Seahawks would NOT wipe out St. Louis.

Even more amazingly I had zero true failures. None of my predictions failed on all three counts, line, over-under or pick. Sometimes the math is all right.

There aren’t any good bets unfortunately, so there will be no redeeming of my good name in gambling. I like to think the glass is half full though, so I’ll say it’s more like no chance of me digging that hole any deeper this weekend.

Week 8 Results

This is a red letter week! Out of the 13 games played in Week 8, I missed 1 game. Giving me a win ratio for the week of 90%! Woohoo!! I was very excited. More so because it means I beat Evil’s computer program that he relies on to make his weekly picks. Yeah me!!

The game I missed was Philadelphia and the NY Giants. I really expected the Eagles to win at home. But it was not to be. I don’t think they were all to happy about losing either. Especially since it was a division match up. Nor was the little Prince all that happy that his team lost.

But for me it was an exceptional week of picks, so I can’t be too upset!
