I Stand, So You Can Kneel

I Stand, So You Can Kneel

I stand to honor the promise the flag represents.
You kneel because that promise has been broken.

I stand to affirm my belief that all are created equal, and to fight alongside you for that promise.
You kneel because too few stand with you.

I stand because we can be better.
You kneel to remind us to be better.

I stand to honor all that have fought and died so that we may be free.
You kneel because not all of us are.

I stand because I can.
You kneel for those who can’t.

I stand to defend your right to kneel.
You kneel to defend my right to stand.

I stand because I love this country.
You kneel because you love it too.

Spring’s 2015 NFL Week 3

Titans2015 Season: Week 3

All I’ve got to say is, Go Skins. I’m too sick to care about football right now. But it’s Thursday, so I’m biting the bullet and getting my picks in before the Skins game. No big thought went into this week. I’m picking some upsets, going with some obvious choices and simply guessing on the rest.

I do think Romo being out will be a big hit to Dallas and with the way Atlanta is playing this year, I think the Falcons will have their game wrapped up. Some teams that should be winning, but are struggling I think will have a wake up call this week. That seems to happen in week 3 in past seasons. So I’m going with that on a few games.

Here are my picks for week 3. Continue reading

Spring’s 2015 NFL Week 2

redskins22015 Season: Week 2 Picks

Autumn officially begins this week and today’s weather is crisp and cool through most of the country. That’s football weather!

Opening week is in the books and I’m rather pleased with last weeks picks. But this week began before I had time to update my table and make my picks. But I did tell Evil before the game on Thursday that Denver would win. You’ll simply have to trust us on that one.

But here’s the picks for the rest of this week. Continue reading

Spring’s 2015 NFL Week 1

football2015 Season: Week 1

It’s time for football. Yeah.

Actually I’m a little blah for football. NASCAR season has entered the playoff stage and that’s much more interesting. After attending the final race of the season here in Richmond, I’m psyched for the Chase and not ready for football yet.

However, the air is crisp and cool today. Reminding us that the year is waning and fall is here. So whither or not we’re ready for it, football has begun. So here are my picks for week 1. Continue reading

Evil NFL Week 12

Panthers2014 Season: Week 12

For those of you thinking, “Hey he didn’t post for weeks 10 and 11!” please get a life, you deserve better than to wonder what I’m thinking about football. Bottom line is weeks 9 through 11 sucked. There was one good bet flagged, that the New England Indianapolis game would go under. It didn’t. Apparently hospitals are bad luck for football.

But for this week there is another good bet. Unless you’re a Green Bay fan… Minnesota will cover the spread by actually beating Green Bay.

My take: Continue reading

Springs’s 2014 NFL Week 9

redskins22014 Season: Week 8

Well it was an interesting week. I like winning more than I lost too. I finished the week with a 60% win ratio and that raised my season win ratio to 56%. Yeah me.

There were a few games I’m honestly glad I lost.

I like Green Bay, they’re a good team with a great history. How can you not like the team who represents the blue-collar workers of America? But to be honest, I much prefer New Orleans. The years and years of being the underdogs, the fight and fortitude to find success when Naw’leans needed the most. I love that heart. So even though I picked the Packers last week to win. I’m so glad they didn’t!

Then there’s my Skins! Woohoo. Before I expanded my favorites, the only team who had my backing were, and are, Washington. Well I take that back. I always had 2 favorites; the Skins and whoever played against Dallas! So when Monday night came and my Skins were playing in Dallas, I mean really..who thought they were going win? I say we bench RGIII and keep Colt!

So here’s how my week turned out. Continue reading

Evil NFL Week 8

Panthers2014 Season: Week 8

Week 7 was great! Got 11 picks and no true failures.

Oddly the only game I nailed was the game in Indianapolis, mostly thanks to Cincinnati not bothering to be there.

There are, of course, no good bets this week, however. Though there are a few games that I’m looking forward to seeing.

My take: Continue reading

Springs’s 2014 NFL Week 8

Eagles2014 Season: Week 8

Thursday’s game between San Diego and Denver is already into the 1st quarter, so there’s not a lot of time for analysis. But I think Peyton has this game. There are a couple of games I’m seriously taking a guess with. Baltimore and Cincinnati being one of those. Going with the Bengals there.

Miami and Jacksonville; the battle for Florida. I dunno, the way the Dolphins have been playing this season. I think they’re going to take Tampa Bay.

And I have to admit I’m picking the Eagles out of loyalty to the man-child. He’s a Philly fan so go Eagles!

Here’s the rest of my picks this week. Continue reading
