NFL Week 12 – Spring & The Prince’s Results
Well it was a pretty good Thanksgiving and week for football. The little Prince and I switched places in the family win/lost column.
I finished the week out 12 of 16. I’m happy with that.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
I hope you and your family have something to be thankful for this year. Even if it’s just being thankful for each other.
The Nascar Season is over (boohoo) so we have thrown all our attention into the NFL and our little family competition. Last week the Prince and SirEvil did pretty well, and well I came in last. But I’m still happy because my Titans proved me wrong and won on Monday night.
So this week we have some toss up games. I’m hoping New Orleans carry their winning streak through this weekend and beat New England. That was the toughest game to pick. The Prince thinks they’ll fall to New England though. I’m crossing my fingers on that one.
The Titans did such a great job last weekend that I’m hoping they’ll carry that through with Arizona. Especially since they’re playing at home. The Prince thinks the fishes will take the Bisons in the snow. Never know about the Voodoo child’s picks sometimes. He might be right, but I don’t think so. His upset pick is Houston over Indianapolis. Houston plays pretty good at home and it might be a tough game for the Colts. But I don’t think they’ll fall to the Texans.
So here’s our picks for this week.

NFL Week 11 – Spring & The Prince’s Results
Well this was more like it! Everyone played up to their stats, those we really expected to win, won and those we thought were a toss up, were truly a toss up.
The Prince finished out the week with a great set of picks. The little 6 year old picked 12 of the 16 games correctly. I’m very glad he picked Tenn to win on Monday night. They are my team after all. And even more so, I’m glad my Titans played so well and won the game. It was a tough fought and physical game, wow.
I was disappointed that Atlanta didn’t seem to play to their potential against the Giants. I still think the Falcons should have won that game. And what a disappointment Pittsburgh has been this year.
But all in all, it wasn’t a bad week, I finished out the picks 10 of 16 and that’s at least better than the 50% I’ve had in the past few weeks.
So here are our results.
| Week 11 | ||||
Well I haven’t been doing very well with my gut feeling picks. And there’s no guarantee this week will be different.
I’m sticking with the statistics on the Miami/Carolina game. Carolina has had some big boost in their confidence with their recent wins. Plus they’re playing at home and I think that gives them the advantage over the Dolphins. The Prince likes dolphins and think they will swim on by the big cats.
I’m going with Pittsburgh for the same reason. Their season and their record on the road is better than what I think Kansas City can play up to. I’m a little surprised the Prince is going with KC; his principal is a huge Steelers fan. But who know, the little voodoo child might know something we don’t.
While Dallas hasn’t been living up to their hype (which they rarely do anyway), I think Jerry is going to make sure they don’t loose at home in his Palace against Washington. I’m fairly sure there are some jobs on line with this game and I think they will pull out the win. The Prince however thinks the Redskins are great and they’ll pull out a surprise victory.
Minnesota / Seattle is another hard pick. I think the Seahawks have the potential for taking the Vikings. But I have to go with the sentimental favorite and pick Farve (The Geriatric Ninja) to pull off a win again with his Vikings. The Prince however thinks they’re tired and the kewl looking Seahawks are gonna win.
He’s picking Oakland over Cincinnati and I’m half tempted to change my pick to match his. But I think I’m going to go with my gut feeling about the stats for the Bengals and cross my fingers that I’m right about this one.
Lastly Tennessee at Houston is the last tough pick. I really want my Titans to win and they just might be able to pull it off. They’re coming off a win and a confidence boost, but I think Houston plays better at home than what their record indicates. So I’m taking a chance on my gut feeling and taking the Texans. The Prince knows Tennessee is one of Momma’s favorite teams (after all I was born there) and he’s decided because of that, they’re going to win. Don’t ya just love that 6 year old mental processing?

.
We’ve been watching HBO’s “True Blood” from Netflix. While I’ve seen a few of the episodes over it’s current seasons, I’ve missed a lot of them. SirEvil has never seen them so we decided to add the show to our Netflix list and start from scratch. One of the first things we decided is watching this show is like watching “baptist” porn. While the concept of sexual interaction is very much in tune with the historical mythology of Vampires, the show takes it to the very edge of what we’re used to seeing on American television, or even cable. Now for us, this isn’t a big deal; we’re hardly puritans. But it certainly surprises me that one of our dear friends (a very devout Christian) is totally enthralled with this show, with all it’s immoral concepts. For some reason I find that funny and interesting at the same time.
So after watching a few of the first episodes we find ourselves wishing Netflix would hurry up and send the next DVD. We’re ready for the next episode as soon as the previous one ends. A good sign for a show that it’s good. And this one, certainly is! If you haven’t seen it, it’s well worth putting on your Netflix list.
It was a great week for our favorite family teams, but not such a great week for picks. I’m ok with that!
I can’t believe the Redskins won a game. Woohoo and yeehaa! And wow look what the Panthers did to Atlanta. Even the Titans won a game, YES! I’m also very glad I was wrong about Indianapolis and that New Orleans held their own and kept their undefeated record alive as well.
So while the picks didn’t represent a great week of predictions, we’re still happy here in our little home.

I have been receiving a good deal of emails from people who are seriously worried and scared about the end of the world as foretold by the Mayans and the Mayan Calendar. Probably because of the new movie that is about to be released “2012” from Centropolis Entertainment and starring John Cusack.
There is of course a ton of information about the Mayan’s and their Calendar out there on the web. The trick is trying to separate the BS from some of the good academic research.
The Prince’s Picks for Week 10
Well our little Prince (who’s 6 years old) has decided he wants to play with Mom and Dad and make his own picks for Sunday. They say the family that plays together, stays together. We already have corrupted him with our Nascar fanaticism and our Renfaire hobby, so why not football too.
So here are his picks for Week 10:

NFL Week 10 – Spring’s Picks
Week 10 is about to get underway with the Thursday night game of Chicago in San Francisco. I’m going with the 49’ers in that game. Wish we could watch it, but since we have Comcast and they suck in our county; we’ll have to rely on NFL.com for that game.
I have two upset picks this week. The primary one is New England at Indianapolis. I have no real rhyme or reason. I just have a gut feeling this is the week the Colts will fall in their undefeated season. Consequently I think New Orleans will continue their streak and remain undefeated.
The second upset pick is Carolina over Atlanta. These two have a history of a great rivalry. Carolina has looked pretty good in the past 2 weeks. I think they finally woke up and decided their supposed to play football. Since they’re playing in Charlotte (SirEvil’s hometown), I just have a feeling they’ll pull off a win. If they do, it will certainly be an upset for the week.
I haven’t been very lucky in choosing Baltimore. But I’m going with them again this week. Perhaps because they’re the little Prince’s favorite team. He likes the bald eagle and tada he became an Eagles fan. We’ll go with them this week and cross our fingers.
So here’s the picks for week 10.

The weekend didn’t turn out too bad, in part thanks to the last minute changes in picks. Houston came pretty close to taking Indianapolis down for the first time this year. The Colts and the Saints remain the only undefeated teams at the end of week 9. I’m so happy the Saints are doing so well. They’ve been the underdog for so long, it’s good to see them dominating.
The surprise for the weekend was the upset by the Chargers beating the. NY Giants. And in New York no less. That was a big surprise. I wondered if it was case of over confidence and the Giants missed the plane to…Giant Stadium.
I really expected the Broncos to play much better than they did last night against the Steelers. I knew it would be a very tough game, but you can’t win with turn overs. Palomalo was just totally on his game and ran circles around the Broncos. At least the little Prince’s Principal is happy this morning.
With the last minute changes the weekend ends with a win of 9 games and 4 losses. Not bad. Better then the 7 and 6 it could have been.
So here are the final results for the week.
