2011 NFL Week 9 – Results

Well Week 9 wasn’t as good for Mom as it was for the Prince. His method of picking served him well this week and he finished with a 11 – 3 record. I on the other hand had a lousy week and finished 7 – 7; 50% over all. Yuck! And that’s all I have to say about that.

2011 NFL Week 9 – Picks

After the great picks last weekend, I’ve got a 67% average for the year. Not bad. Not fantastic, but I am winning the family pick contest. There’s a couple of good games this week that I think might be toss ups. I’m picking Tennessee over Cincinnati only because the Titans are one of my favorites and they’re playing at home. But I think this is one of the first toss ups. New England and the Giants is the other which way to go game. I’m picking the Giants because I think they’re going into the game with something to prove. A little more heart can go a long way to winning. Baltimore and Pittsburgh I think will be the game of the week. My gut says Baltimore will pull it out, but Pittsburgh is awfully good at home. So statistics win out in that pick and I’m going with the Steelers.

So here’s our picks for Week 9:

2011 NFL Week 8 – Results

Well week 8 was a much better week. San Diego and Kansas City was one of the toss up games for the week. So I’m not surprised I lost that game. But what in the world happened to New Orleans? And when is Cam Newton going to pull the Panthers together. No way should they have lost that game to the Vikings. All in all, it was a pretty good week.

2011 NFL Week 8 – Picks

Hopefully we’ll have a better week here. There are a couple of games that promise to be close or toss ups. The Prince is somewhat sticking to his animal vs; but he did make a few alternate choices. This weeks upset I think will be in Pittsburgh. And I think New Orleans v St. Louis might be a better game this week only because of the excitement and energy permeating the city from the Cardinals World Series win. But I still think New Orleans will take the day. We’ll see.

2011 NFL Week 6 – Results

I forgot to post our results from last week. It wasn’t a bad week, but not as good at the previous 2. Even the Prince didn’t do so badly this time with his ‘the animal always wins’ strategy.

2011 NFL Week 6 – Picks

Most of the favorites are playing at home, but we do have a few potential upsets this week. Either because of emotion or sheer frustration from losing. The first upset from the Prince and I comes from Atlanta. There’s no doubt that the Panthers are getting better each week. And although Atlanta has the better record so far, they’re beat up and honestly I don’t think their that much better than Carolina. There’s also a few toss ups this week. Houston & Baltimore, Buffalo & the Giants, New Orleans & Tampa. Generally I’d pick who has home field advantage, but I’m not so sure that’s going to make enough of a difference in some of these games. So we’ll see how that turns out. And I still have to go with my Skins to beat the Eagles. Loyal fan to the end there.

2011 NFL Week 5 – Results

Not a bad week at 9-4 for me. The Prince is still relying on his animal vs animal method and it’s still failing. He’s 8, so trying to convince him to change his method is proving difficult. We simply don’t tell him his results during the games and he doesn’t get upset. Ah the things parents do to keep their kids happy.

Anyway, results..my Titans lost miserably to the Steelers, but I knew that game was a toss up anyway. Bruised egos aside, that home field advantage worked for Pittsburgh. Minnesota pulled out their win, but Indy still couldn’t their act together without Manning, which is honestly kind of pathetic. I am surprised the Giants couldn’t hold their own, at home no less, against the Seahawks. And kudos to Oakland. Right before the games started I had thought about changing that pick seeing as how Oakland would be playing with a great deal of emotion and huge desire to win after the death of owner Al Davis. But sometimes that emotion can go the other way too; so I stuck with Houston, at home. I’m sort of glad I lost that pick.

So here are the results for the Prince and I for week 5.

2011 NFL Week 5 – Picks

Some of this weeks picks seem pretty easy, but you never know what a team is going to do at home.  Tenn & Pitt is a toss up, but I think the Steelers have a bruised ego right now and though they’re playing at home, I think that gives Tenn a slight advantage. Ari v Minn and KC v Ind are the other toss up games. In those two games, I think playing at home just might give Indy and Minn the slight advantage giving both home teams their 1st win of the season. I expect the Giants and Packers both to have blow out games. Along with the Detroit Lions. Who’d a thought someone might say that about the Lions.

So here are the picks from me and the Prince.
