Springs’s 2014 NFL Week 8

Eagles2014 Season: Week 8

Thursday’s game between San Diego and Denver is already into the 1st quarter, so there’s not a lot of time for analysis. But I think Peyton has this game. There are a couple of games I’m seriously taking a guess with. Baltimore and Cincinnati being one of those. Going with the Bengals there.

Miami and Jacksonville; the battle for Florida. I dunno, the way the Dolphins have been playing this season. I think they’re going to take Tampa Bay.

And I have to admit I’m picking the Eagles out of loyalty to the man-child. He’s a Philly fan so go Eagles!

Here’s the rest of my picks this week. Continue reading

NFL Week 7

Panthers2014 Season: Week 7

Week 6 blew chunks, except for the good bet I missed. I really have to start paying attention to the numbers, the under bet in Cleveland was a good one and I called it right.

I nailed the Cleveland game and the Oakland game.

For True Failures, you should get some popcorn, there was the Houston game, the Tampa game, Minnesota, Miami, and finally Seattle. Seattle losing to Dallas in Seattle should lead the Comeon! Man! segment…

There are, of course, no good bets this week. I checked twice this time.

My take: Continue reading

Springs’s 2014 NFL Week 7

Titans2014 Season: Week 6

What a great week! I made it through with 12 wins. Ok one of those is a Tie; so Cincinnati didn’t lose and I’m counting it as a win. San Diego is on top of their division, so I’m not really surprised I lost that pick. But come on; Oakland did turn it into a pretty good game.

The two surprises of the week for me, Atlanta lost to Chicago at home. Now I know the Bears aren’t a push over, but the Falcons playing at home?! How did they not show up for that game?!

Of my 3 losses, the most surprising was Dallas beating Seattle. Again, at home for the Seahawks? Say what? How did that happen? The way Romo has been playing all year, he suddenly decided to show up and play? Well that’s just not right.

Regardless I had a good week and the result was an 80% win ratio for the week and 54% for the season. Better than last week. So here’s my Week 6 results. Continue reading

NFL Week 6

Panthers2014 Season: Week 6

Week 5 was awesome, I called 13 games right.

I nailed the Giants, San Fran and the San Diego game. Of all those it appears the worst I did was figure on the Jets scoring at least some points.

For True Failures the Tennessee game comes in. I wasn’t off much, just enough to be wrong about the pick, bet and over under. Then Buffalo. Never bet on a B team.

There are, of course, no good bets this week. Where is Carville when you need him. It’s the economy stupid!

Spring’s 2014 NFL Week 6

redskins22014 Season: Week 6 Picks

We continue football in the twilight zone and the full moon, though it’s waning, is still impacting the tides. So I’m going to forgo my usual analysis and pick from the gut. We’ll see how this works. I’m not giving this a lot of credence with the stressing week, month, how about year! we’ve had.

So here we go.
I think I’m ok with tonight’s pick. Sunday? I dunno; it’s the twilight zone in football! Continue reading

NFL Week 5

Panthers2014 Season: Week 5

Week 4 as usual was played fully in the Twilight Zone. Despite that I did manage to nail one game, but I think it might be due to the fact that San Fran started in the Twilight Zone.

Then there were the true failures. It would appear that Green Bay stole all of Chicago’s Wheaties and ate them all, maybe with a side of spinach. Then the Jets failed me. And of course, Tampa Bay pointed out that the Steelers really aren’t all that and a bag of chips, did you see that Carolina? And then there was New England. What changed on that team this year? Did they forget how to play football in the off season?

There are, of course, no good bets this week. Continue reading

New Orleans Saints2014 Season: Week 5 Picks

I don’t even know what to say about this week. After the way my past weeks have gone, I’m simply taking guesses here. Maybe the NFL has fallen into the world of the Paranormal, with karma flying from team to team and trying to make things right. Or maybe the moon and stars have lined up to create a world in the Twilight Zone where everything is turned around and upside down.

Whatever the excuse. Here’s my picks for week 5. Continue reading

football2014 Season: Week 4 Picks

I’m tired and stressed out; so no game insights tonight.

Here are my picks for Week 4.

I hope I do better than the past two weeks. Another indication of being stressed out beyond belief, can’t think and can’t pick my games very well. Continue reading

Springs’s 2014 NFL Week 3

seahawks2014 Season: Week 3

I’m hoping for a better week this Sunday. My games to watch: Washington at Philadelphia. I’m actually picking against my most favorite team. But this is an in conference game so it has some high stakes for both teams.

Anyone know where the Giants have gone? Who would have thought they’d be struggling so badly? I didn’t. While they’re lost, Houston is stepping it up, and I think they’ll take New York by storm.

On that same note, Andrew Luck seems to be having some bad luck so far this year. Where are the rest of the Colts? And like Houston, I think the Jags have discovered big kitties have big teeth. They are really playing well in this early part of the season. Wonder if they’ll be there in the end.

The other game I’m interested in, as I’m sure a lot of people are; the Broncos in Seattle. I think Denver comes into the week with a determination to redeem themselves from the Super Bowl loss. But I don’t think it’s going to be that easy. The Seahawks are smarting over a loss last week that should have never happened. And they have a reputation to redeem from that loss. That they’re playing at home in Seattle I think gives the Hawks an advantage. Albeit a very small one.

Here’s my picks for this week: Continue reading

NFL Week 3

Panthers2014 Season: Week 3

Even better 2nd week, I’m still top of the family picks and betting is netting a buck sixty on the dollar. But lets talk about Brady. I left him in there figuring, correctly, that they would stomp the Vikings. However, no help to my fantasy team, they managed to do it almost ENTIRELY without Brady. This week they will be eating Raiders for lunch. Brady better fill up.

I nailed the Baltimore game. You know, Pittsburgh isn’t that far from Baltimore but it appears they walked and missed the game. Nailed the Denver game too.

And once again, no, as in nada, jack, squat, oh, zero true failures!

And also again, no free money in Vegas.

My take: Continue reading
