2012 NFL Week 8 Results & 9 Picks

Spring and The Prince Share Their Picks

Week 8 Results:

Well it wasn’t a terrible week, but by last years standards it wasn’t great either. At least I ended the week at 50%. And so did The Prince. But let’s start with how in the world did the Vikings get beat by the Buccaneers. At home no less?! I kind of hoped Tennessee would allow their home field advantage carry them through a 2nd week win, but that evidently was simply wishful thinking. The highlight of the week in our house was watching Dallas get beat! Yeah Giants!!! Can’t wait to see that happen again this week in Atlanta. Man those Falcons are good this year. I wish the Saints would wake up and play like the Falcons. They’re a much better team than their scores and attitude are showing. Proof that there’s more mental dexterity than brawn in football I think.

Anyway, here’s our results from last week:

Week 9 Picks:

Onto this week. The Prince hasn’t made his picks yet, so I’ll be updating these later. But for now..here’s my take.

I’m giving the advantage to San Diego, Green Bay and Washington because they’re all playing at home this week. Except for the Packers, I think the other two games are toss ups and I’m hoping being at home makes the difference.  I might have picked the Vikings over the Seahawks, but after the loss Minnesota had last week; I’m betting they’ve gotten the wind knocked out of them. So I think Seattle’s home field advantage and that they’re playing pretty good this year should handle the Vikings. I can’t wait to see Atlanta decimate the Cowboys!

The two big games in our house this week will be Evil’s team (The Panthers) playing my team (The Redskins). I’m going with my Skins out of loyalty but I think this is a toss up. It may not be the biggest game of the year, but it may be one of the most watched. RG3 against Cam Newton is going to get a lot of attention. Right or wrong there will be comparisons. RG3 is being used wisely, but a lot of people don’t think that opportunity is being given to Newton. We’ll see how they stand up against each other today.

And Monday night one of our other favorite teams (The Saints) go up against The Prince’s favorite team (The Eagles). We both will pick Philadelphia. That’s one game I know what the kid’s choice will be.

So here’s the picks thus far for Week 9.

30 minutes before game time and the Prince decided he wanted to make his picks too. I’ve updated our post for that.
